Defusing Anger
Pastor Jeff continues our Groundwork series by examining Paul's instruction in Ephesians 4: "In your anger do not sin." We discover that beneath our anger lies unmet desires that have transformed into demands, setting us up for disappointment when people can't meet needs only God can fulfill. We learn that healthy relationships resolve conflict quickly rather than letting anger fester and give the devil a foothold. We are challenged to pause before reacting, move toward reconciliation today, and forgive others as Christ has forgiven us.
Daniel
Pastor Jeff Manion continues our EPIC sermon series by exploring Daniel's story of faith in exile. We discover how God remains at work even when our world feels shaken and out of control, carrying out his purposes. Through Daniel's example, we learn the power of deciding in advance how we will honor God, before temptations arise. We discover how to navigate the tension between two kingdoms with both firm conviction and gracious respect, showing us how to live faithfully in a culture that often conflicts with God's values. This message challenges us to maintain a daily rhythm of prayer like Daniel did, turning our hearts toward God and trusting him to bring restoration in our broken world.
Spiritual Warfare
Pastor Aaron Buer concludes our Enemies of the Soul sermon series by examining the spiritual armor God provides for believers. We discover how the six pieces of armor—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and God's Word—equip us to stand firm against the world, the flesh, and the devil. This powerful teaching reveals why putting on our spiritual armor requires intentional daily action and how we're designed to fight these battles in community, not alone. We are challenged to recognize the tactics of our spiritual enemies and to take decisive steps in developing spiritual practices that will help us live the full life God created us for.

Beyond the Weekend Devotionals

Insightful Love
As Paul writes to the believers in Philippi, he calls out a specific relational conflict in the church. Two women aren’t getting along. They love Jesus and Paul, but struggle to love each other ( Philippians 4 ). What is true for them is true for the whole community—they find it hard to put others first, as Christ modeled. His prayer is that they would have insight and knowledge to discern what is best. He knows that loving difficult people well doesn’t come naturally. He also recognizes that conflict within the church community is a clear threat to unity. Paul prays that God would give them discernment to know how to love each other well.

Overflowing Love
Paul writes a letter of deep affection to the church in the city of Philippi. He has walked with them for ten years, sharing life and faith. He knows their joys and tensions—and he knows they have relational struggles. The church community faces conflicts that threaten its unity. Paul doesn’t simply instruct them on how to behave. He talks to God about their struggles and writes a prayer asking God to help them grow increasingly in love for one another.

Resolve Today
Paul's instruction to the Ephesians carries urgency: resolve anger quickly. He's not commanding them to argue until midnight, but to do everything possible to settle today's conflicts today. When the believers nurse their anger and let it fester, small disagreements grow into massive resentments. What should have been a minor conflict becomes an argument about everything. Prior unresolved tensions get dragged into present disputes. Paul warns that lingering anger opens a door, giving the devil a foothold in the Ephesians’ relationships and church community. Satan camps out in places of unresolved conflict, planting seeds of bitterness that spread through families and churches like weeds choking a garden...
