Sermon Series: Dinner with Jesus
Senior Teaching Pastor Jeff Manion teaches on Jesus’ conversation at a Pharisee’s house. Through this conversation, we are challenged to consider who we include in our space because Jesus included us. Jesus’ story shows us that God invites the outsider to his table and our table should reflect his table.
Luke 14:1-24
Senior Pastor Jeff Manion discusses the calling of Matthew (Levi). Through this conversation, we see how Jesus uses a meal to show his love for people where they were at. His action helps us recognize that everybody is lost, everybody is loved and everybody is welcomed to his table. We are challenged to share a meal with others for the purpose of discipleship and evangelism. Luke 5:27-32
Senior Pastor Jeff Manion discusses Jesus’ interactions at a dinner party at the home of a Pharisee, Simon. Through this passage, we see that Jesus shares meals to complete his mission. Jesus tells an important parable that helps us realize that big forgiveness equals big love, while little forgiveness equals little love. Through this conversation, we are challenged to recognize that when we view the crimes of the heart as insignificant, it is possible we will be experiencing little forgiveness and respond with little love. Luke 7:36-50
Guest speaker, Pastor Kevin Harney, helps us see that “no” is a beautiful word. Pastor Harney uses the life of Jesus as an example to show us that we have to say “no” to things so we are free to say “yes” to better things. Mark 1:37-39

In this conversation, Jesus tells the Pharisees they are missing it through a series of corrective statements. We see that we run the same risk of missing it as the Pharisees, with just as much at stake. Luke 11:37-44
Senior Pastor Jeff Manion discusses a breakfast Jesus makes for his disciples on the beach. Through this discussion, we see that failure is not final with Jesus. He desires to restore and recommission us. He gives us the mission of taking care of each other. John 21:1-17

No is a Beautiful Word
