January 07, 2024

Aaron Buer — Senior Pastor
Senior Pastor:
Related Topics:Abraham, David, Esther

Pastor Aaron Buer explores the story of Esther and Mordecai, teaching us to navigate confusing situations while honoring God. This message challenges us to resolve to obey God's Word in our confusing situations. We are encouraged to consider how our positions and resources may not just be for us but for serving others. We are reminded that Jesus sacrificed himself to save us from our sins when we seemed beyond hope. We are prompted that if we need a new beginning, we can trust Christ today for the forgiveness and life only He provides.

    Elijah and Elisha

Pastor Aaron begins our Resolve series by examining the life-changing encounter between Elijah and Elisha. This message encourages us to consider God’s calling in our life and where we need to begin or continue following Jesus in the new year. We are challenged to look at what we need to leave behind in order to follow him. We are invited into accountability and consider “who needs to know” what is happening in our lives. Through the Spirit’s power, we can grow this year to become more of what God has designed us to be.

    Resolve

The new year is a great time for starting new. We start eating better, exercising more, reading our Bible more regularly and other things we let our busy lives get behind on. But starting new requires a few things: (1) we understand we are somewhere for a reason and (2) we will be asked to leave something behind. Join us for a two-week series we’re calling RESOLVE. We’ll learn ways to start well as we explore the stories of Esther, David, Elisha and Abraham. Do more in 2024 with your faith and start it with us at church. Week 1: 1 Kings 19:19-21 Week 2: Esther 4:11-16

Parables

The stories Jesus told and what they mean for your life today . Why did Jesus teach in stories? Because the deepest truths about God are often found in the ordinary moments of life. In the parables, Jesus takes everyday things, a lost sheep, a dinner party, a farmer planting seeds and uses them to show us what God is really like and what it means to follow him. This summer, we’re spending seven weeks in the parables from Luke’s gospel. Whether you’ve heard these stories a hundred times or this is your first time, you’re invited to come and hear them fresh.
